Free parking after 5pm makes visiting this downtown restaurant for dinner both easy and convenient. Facing the Sony Centre and only a block from the Air Canada Centre, it is in a great location for both sports and theatre goers. Located right beside the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Acqua has a unique ambience due to its location within the Brookfield Place complex. The front of the restaurant has a street entrance and contains a very long mahogany bar with a dining area that follows a row of floor to ceiling curved glass windows. Further back in the restaurant there is an inside entrance from the shopping mall, which leads to one of the largest indoor restaurant patios in Toronto. The patio sits in a sun filled six storey atrium that is surrounded by its own stand of trees. Separated by a glass wall is another encloded dining area that is ideal for private parties. Food at the Acqua is classic Italian with a distinct Mediterranean flavour. Appetizers include oysters and escargot. There are five types of pasta, and main dinner choices include fish, chicken, steak, and lamb. The menu contains some unique items, such as truffle dusted scallops and alaskan black cod.
The Acqua is a master of catering, and its position at the base of the financial district means that it is only a short distance from many of the major office towers that require catered lunches and dinners.
