The Metropolitan Resto Bar has had a recent major makeover that completely updates the entire interior. Located on the ground floor of an art deco hi-rise, this bar and restaurant is the ideal place for either a good dinner or for drinks after work. It is also well known for serving one of the best lunches in Old Town. There are both lunch and dinner menus with feature daily specials of international cuisine. The menus lean towards Italian but have enough choices to satisfy any taste. For dessert try the banana and strawberry crepe or the baked apple cake. Main courses range from lamb shank to meat lovers pizza, and there is lots of variety to choose from. Sit at either the leather seated tables or under the chandeliers at the bar. Choose your own bottle of wine from the wine rack by the door. In winter the interior gets a lot of natural light due to the huge outdoor windows in both the front and back of the dining area. In summer you can sit and relax in the excellent outdoor patio, which is in the back of the restaurant and away from the traffic noise.
