At one time, Harvest House Craftsmen had a huge store on the north side of King Street East, stuffed full of exciting furniture that was for the most part hand crafted. They then moved to the south side of the street into a fairly tiny furniture store that seemed to specialize in kitchen cabinetry. Then one day the store was locked up. Eventually, large billboards covered all of the glass windows. These billboards point out that the closest store is now in Schomberg, a town that is about 63 kilometers from the King Street location. For people in Old Town Toronto, many who rely on public transit or walking to get around, a sixty three kilometer jog might be a little too far to look at some furniture. For those people, you can always look at the pictures of furniture on those large cardboard billboards that are plastered all over the front of the King Street store. If you are wondering what the point is, we can guarantee that many people in the neighbourhood are wondering the exact same thing.
